Probiotics are live microorganisms that have beneficial effects on the health of people who consume them. The countries of northern Europe have a great culture of beneficial microorganisms use this, called probiotics (from pro and biota, meaning life) due to their tradition of eating foods fermented with bacteria, such as yogurt.

What is the origin of probiotics

Probiotics may be bacterial or yeast.
Probiotic bacteria survive passage through the gastrointestinal tract and are implanted in the colon or small intestine.
There are different types of probiotics being the most beneficial: Bifidobacteria, Lactobacillus (acidophilus, casei, plantarum, salivarius, rhamnosus), Bifidobacterium, Streptococcus thermophilus.

Probiotics offer different benefits: help in digestion of certain foods, involved in the synthesis of B vitamins, improves calcium absorption, help maintain the balance of intestinal flora and vaginal flora of women, improve and regulate intestinal transit and generally strengthen the immune system.
Probiotics are with us since the first day of life. The newborn has his first contact at birth. During labor has his first contact with maternal bacteria, hence the importance of a natural birth and not by caesarean where there is no such contact.
